Dr. P. V. Ramana Murthy (PV) is qualified in Law, Advanced Human Resources, Executive Coaching and Psychoanalytical aspects related to Leadership and Change. He is an alumni of INSEAD and has a Ph.D in Strategic Human Resource Management.
PV currently serves as the Executive Vice President and Global Head – Human Resources at the Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), the finest hospitality chain and the oldest company of the prestigious Tata Group. As member of the Senior Leadership team at IHCL, PV handles a broad spectrum of initiatives aligned to Leadership Development, Organizational Culture, Strategy and Business Excellence across 145 hotels spanning 4 continents. He also heads Human Resources for other Group Companies like, Roots Corporation (Ginger Hotels) and Taj SATS, which is a JV partnership company with Singapore Airlines.
Before joining Taj, PV served The Coca-Cola Company in various capacities for a period of 15 years. At the time of leaving the company, he was the Executive Director – Human Resources for Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB), India and Bangladesh, the wholly owned subsidiary of the Bottling Investments Group of the Coca-Cola Company. This was a board level position and during his tenure, HCCB served as a strong exporter of leadership talent within the global Coca- Cola company.
In his career spanning three decades Dr. Murthy’s in-depth knowledge of management practices across the globe, comes with his multi-cultural experience in countries such as Asia, Europe and America.
PV has been active in social and professional networking forums like National HRD Network (NHRDN) and served as the President of the Delhi/NCR Chapter of this forum from 2012 - 2014. He also actively participates at The International Society for the Psychoanalytic Study of Organizations – ISPSO, USA. He currently serves as a Board Member on the Board of Greenleaf Center for Servant Leadership, USA. He is also on the Board for Sri Lankan Tourism Advisory Committee.
